After finishing them all, a final eighth story unlocks, tying the narratives together.
Seven of the stories are presented episodically and can be completed in any order. Each of the stories takes place in a different period of human history, including Imperial China, the Wild West, and the far-future. Like its spiritual successor series Octopath Traveler, Live A Live features eight different stories, starring eight different protagonists. Not until last year did it finally release to Western audiences, awith a full HD-2D remake on Nintendo Switch. Live A Live is an innovative RPG that originally released on the Super Famicom in 1994. Last year’s surprising retro remake release, Live A Live, is now available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
